I think the big thing is that… there’d be a distinction between techniques and spells…? Techs would work more like StS where you’d draw a different hand every round but only get to play one of them each turn. and then spells would work kinda how they do now, where you draw a couple at the start and don’t naturally draw/discard them, and playing them wouldn’t end your turn like quicks, except they’d need energy/mana you generate mid-combat to be used

Okay, But What If I Don’t Die
