In one of the earlier side scenes with Salme, Aurelius tried doing something similar to what Wolf’s doing - going into a kind of Space Between Worlds Without Form - using a technique Jorule’s familiar with, but he got hit with a MASSIVE amount of [Every Sensation Possible All At Once] feedback that was mildly painful/distressing and made using the technique impossible

as was, for the first time in a log, marked by THE DRAGON and not the 10eye symbol/nothing

You’d have to apply to God for a real answer, but I suspect the difference is Wolf doing something that’s innate to him and not, ah, trying to get hacky with reality.
