When Who Kind Summary
3d ago Aurelius marginalia Was pretty sure the towers were from before it broken, yeah, and they must respawn in whatever shape the sundering left them in when Beast's cycle restarts.
3d ago Salme marginalia Adding a link here to this image I received from the Mother of Monsters in the folio on [*The Unsundered World*](https://strangepaths.aludel.xyz/library/the-unsundered-world#entry-3145). Your towers were visible here, Aury---whole and complete. I think ... I think it might imply that the safe predates the sundering of the world?
Aug 05, 2026 Aurelius marginalia Only the cave comes to mind from what I saw/remember. Good thought about the gates, tho it's not like the Samudra one was in the city, exactly... Hmm, I wonder if there's a tower above where the gate below the surface winds up being. But no, nothing at the location I scouted out.
Aug 05, 2026 Salme marginalia It is strange that there's not really anything on Almachadta that's similar? Unless it's the Sword-Saint's cave? The pedestal the Mask rests on certainly doesn't look like anything that belongs on Almachadta at all. (Though if it's the cave, and the city in Samudra---those are both where the ... potential to open gates are located, right? But you didn't sense anything like that around the towers on the Beast, right?) I want to get to that city in Samudra somehow.
Aug 05, 2026 Aurelius marginalia That was also a thought I had, yeah. Do note that SQ mentioned that whenever.... whatever happens on the Beast and it restarts, that the Towers are Already There (and the machine inside is fucked up too) so... yeah, hard to imagine it could be anything other than remnants of the pre-sundered world, and when it fragmented each plane took something with it? That city under the ice in Samudra being more or less still in one piece is even crazier in the light.
Aug 05, 2026 Aurelius marginalia That was my take, yeah. idk necessarily about loved, but thought they were important, at least.
Aug 05, 2026 Salme marginalia Oh I guess I should have read the whole folio. This is exactly what I was thinking. Though. Do you think that ... I don't even know how this would work, but parts of the presundered world somehow ended up in different planes? Like---is the First City in the Septentrione something that was built on Samudra, or was it built before?
Aug 05, 2026 Salme marginalia Holy shit. Well. That's going to be useful?
Aug 05, 2026 Salme marginalia So someone ... crafted these towers and was so proud of them they ... photographed them, and then stored the photographs somewhere they would last forever? For ... since the first cycle of the Beast? Since before that?
Aug 05, 2026 Aurelius prolegomenon Included are several pictures taken of the primary tower from the outside and the surrounding area, as well as the surrounding area from Aurelius' current perspective, show against the old photos of it found. Then several more of the inside of the tower, the machine that took up most of its space, and the part samples of whatever it built once upon a time. Then a few more in depth memories.
