I am not bothered by the fact that I am not understood. I am bothered when I do not know others.

Shall I teach you about knowledge? What you know, you know; what you don’t know, you don’t know. This is true knowledge.

when you’re right, you’re right! and when you’re wrong, change things until you’re right!

so what’s to understand about you and mie

A fascinating assertion–though one does not entirely disagree. However, your Grace, one wonders: in such a paradigm, how does one account for the possibility of error? As a wise man once wrote: “When you have faults, do not fear to abandon them.”

are you afraid of being wrong, ever? if you are, how do you even put one foot in front of the other!

the short answer is, you can’t account for everything! fortunately, in the light of your confident assertions, the darkened path will become clear. making an incorrect assertion is not a fault!

Hm. On the one hand, as the wise man once wrote, “The man of perfect virtue is cautious and slow in his speech. When a man feels the difficulty of doing, can he be other than cautious and slow in speaking?” One seeks, by prudent thought, to avoid those errors which may reasonably be avoided; in such is wisdom.

On the other, one agrees–to take no move which involves risk is to be frozen; even the first stone placed on the board may be a error, yet the stone must be placed if one wishes to achieve victory.

It would seem, then, that neither caution nor risk is a virtue; rather, that virtue lies in the wisdom to tell when one must risk, and when one must refrain. Would you agree?

having the wisdom to tell when one must risk, and when one must refrain is the virtue of having something to lose.

perfect virtue lies in action. virtues smash to bits all the time like this. durability sure doesn’t factor into perfection, huh!

what do you call a virtue that is not acted upon? a wish, or a dream?

Jun 27, 2026

A dream, one supposes. Perhaps simply a desire. One prefers to have goals than dreams. A dream is a vague thing–a wish, perhaps, as you say. One wishes, one dreams, one hopes, waiting for the thing one desires to drop into one’s lap, like a gift from the gods.

Goals are things that are worked towards, stepped towards relentlessly. Goals are dreams taken into one’s own hands.
