May 30, 2026

“n/t”?

May 30, 2026

Repairing a sundered world, probably?

May 30, 2026

it means “no text” you use it when you said everything you really needed to say in the thread title. or i guess they’re Ripples here? that’s neat

May 30, 2026

I am up to finding out that there are multiple people who are deeply passionate about yeast.

May 30, 2026

Yeast is great, it’s how you make good bread.

May 30, 2026

yeah yeast is the shit. you can’t make bread or like, most booze without it? also you can just use it as a whole-ass ingredient in and of itself? yeast are cool little guys

May 30, 2026

I mean I acknowledge the utility. I’m not sure it warrants pet names or genealogies? But perhaps I am just simply unenlightened.

Have you ever made your own bread, Aurelius? And I guess you too, AG.

May 30, 2026

whom amongst us has NOT made their own bread before??? Certainly not me.

May 30, 2026

I was always on butchering duty. They kept telling me I overworked the dough.

May 30, 2026

it’s actually insanely hard to make good, non lazy mode bread imo and if you’re ever somewhere that HAS good bakeries you’re gonna get spoiled as absolute fuck btw just throwing that one out there as a warning. 10/10 would spend goddess knows how many years getting flour under my nails again

May 30, 2026

You like to … bake, AG?

May 30, 2026

Goddess, it never occurred to me while we were there, but Almachadta was all dense biscuits and flatbread, wasn’t it? You’re in for a treat when we get to the Beast, Salme.

May 30, 2026

i like to do most things i can get good at >:)

sometimes it just takes for fucking ever is all

We have bread! Mostly dark, heavy stuff, but we do have bread. I don’t think we have the kind of bread you have though? You’ll have to share your favorites with me.

Not a patient person? I’m not either, really, so I guess I can relate. What are you good at?

Right, that’s what I mean. You didn’t have high quality bread. Well, not that naan is bad but I mean. Well, you’ll see.

No Aurelius we just had low-tier bread for hillbillies.

<3

(I’m doing that right, right?)

May 30, 2026

Yes, absolutely correct.

May 30, 2026

Okay, but how long could you type like a Samudran scholar before breaking character? (This is a challenge; I’m curious if you can do it).

May 30, 2026

You will, of course, remember how I speak naturally while I am being serious, yes?

May 30, 2026

Fair enough point. Is this how everyone on the Beast gets when they’re being serious, or is this unique to you? Wait. Sorry.

Dearest Aurelius, It has come to my attention that you speak in a strikingly formal register when you are being serious, and I have begun to wonder if this a phenomenon unique to yourself, or if it occurs more broadly amongst your more Beastly compatriots. Whilst I am a poor excuse for a scholar indeed, and I am prone to asking these varietals of questions often and, as I have heard tell, invasively. Please enlighten me as to the universality of your speech patterns, should you be so inclined to do so. I eagerly await your reply. Your in Counsel and Scholarship, Salme, Sword-Saint of Almachadta

May 30, 2026

idk prly not

May 30, 2026

Okay that one’s a crime. IDK is … “I don’t … know”? “Prly” is “probably.” Badri would weep.

May 30, 2026

lmaoooooo

i have had to learn patience and tbh i cannot recommend it

↩ Caion, the Emissary #308i have had to learn patience and tbh i cannot recommend it

You had to learn patience? You. Watched by the Dreaming Serpent. Has a techne called [Wait For It]. You.

If we had met as teenagers I think we might’ve exploded Samudra, my friend.

May 30, 2026

wtf that was me. this interface is shit

↩ Salme #306Okay that one's a crime. IDK is ... "I don't ... know"? "Prly" is "probably." Badri would weep.

Badri did not strike me as particularly language prescriptivist but who knows?

↩ angelsGuignol #310wtf that was me. this interface is shit

Lmao

May 30, 2026

I did, actually, have to learn patience, though. I would recommend it, but it was not the most enjoyable learning experience.

May 30, 2026
↩ Aurelius #311Badri did not strike me as particularly language prescriptivist but who knows?

He’s not a prescriptivist really but he was stubbornly patient about my learning to spell and write correctly.

↩ Caion #313I did, actually, have to learn patience, though. I *would* recommend it, but it was not the most enjoyable learning experience.

In retrospect that was pretty obviously not you but I thought you were perhaps trying out new vocabulary gained from our friends.

Anyway, patience is a virtue but it’s one I find exhausting to practice. Better to make things happen then wait for them to happen to you.

May 30, 2026

Oh, yeah that’s completely different.
