Awoken received a second coin like the one you received for the Traveler’s Guide, Aury, this time whilst retrieving something for me from Almachadta. It came with a nice basket of cheese as a bonus, including Awa’s favorite cheese, which is not found on Almachadta.
When you summoned the Traveler’s Guide, what, precisely, were you trying to do? That might give us a better sense of what these are and where they come from.
Nothing all that strange, just summoning the Cartogrix. The Guide was a result of a techne, I think, but no clue about the coin.

the coins are not something I personally am doing on purpose, and I’m not familiar with them either. Did think it might be a spirit coin at first, but that feels off (and also it’s not elementally aligned)

It’s not NIP or the editor, right? That’s really all the comes to mind at the moment, but also, almost certainly isn’t the answer.
I don’t think NIP is that powerful, and I don’t think the editor is that inclined to meddle, but those are just suppositions. Awa may have more thoughts on it?
Right, it feels out of character. They’re all that come to mind as having… any reason to be especially fond of the two of us. And presumably the rest of the group. (Well, you, of course, but I think we can pretty easily remove that option from the table.)
